Game of love ๐Ÿ’œ- โ€‹SUTHRA SHAH 3

SUTHRA SHAH 3

One day, Guru Ji was doing katha (giving spiritual wisdom) in Darbar. Suthra Shah was sat crossed legged at the front of Guru Ji's Darbar (sanctuary). All of a sudden, Suthra stood up and turned his back towards Guru Ji. At this point, the Sikhs had enough of Suthra and thought he had gone too far now. They started shouting at him saying, "Have you gone mad? you have turned your back towards the most spiritual master in the universe."

Suthra said, "I was listening to baani (the teachings), you were not! Guru Ji's words were very harsh and powerful. I was getting many slaps on my face, which I could not handle so I wanted to take the rest on my back. It was getting too painful to bare." At hearing this, the Sikhs went very quiet and sat down.

Guru Ji's words are very powerful. We are getting slapped by Guru ji all the time but the mind has become so lazy and impure, that we force ourselves to ignore the teachings that are going to liberate our soul.

Guru Amardas Ji says, "They do not serve the True Guru and in the end, they regret and repent over and over again. They are cast in to the womb to be reincarnated and rot over and over again."

Find faith in Guru Ji! We don't want the above to be us!

Game of love ๐Ÿ’™- SUTHRA SHAH 2

SUTHRA SHAH 2

Guru sahib Ji was blessing the sangat (congregation) with a divan (teachings). Bhai Suthra was serving Guru Ji by chaur Sahib (ceremonial whisk).

A sadhu (Hindu saint) was sitting in the sangat. The sadhu had black dust applied to his body and face. This is a ritualistic sign for very spiritual people of some faiths.

Suthra caught his eye and bagan to pull silly faces at him by sticking his large teeth out. When the sadhu saw this, he got very angry and ran towards Suthra and started hitting him with a brush he carried. Suthra quickly grabbed Guru Ji's feet. At this point, the sadhu stopped.

The sadhu said, "Guru Ji, your Sikhs are not spiritual but actually very rude." He explained exactly what happened. Guru ji responded by addressing Suthra, "Suthra is this true?" Suthra replied, "Hanji, he has black dust rubbed on his face and body. He is tricking the world of his saintliness yet the pulling of my face actioned him to anger. He is not even spiritual, never mind being a devout saint."

After hearing this, the sadhu grabbed Guru Ji's feet and said, Dhan Guru, dhan thuhade Sikh (blessed is the Guru and blessed are his Sikhs). From that day onwards, the sadhu adopted sikhi.

Today we wear Guru sahib Ji's kakaar (5-Kโ€™s), bana (attire), Guru Ji's dastaar (turban), are we sure we are not living life like the sadhu above? Are we only pure and holy on the outside or are we pure and saintly on the inside too?

Purity of the mind, only comes through living the Guruโ€™s teachings by meditating with every breath and adopting their virtues to build a saintly/soldierly character. Any act adopted without Naam is a ritual.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji says, "the religious rites, rituals and hypocrisies, which are seen are plundered  by the messenger of death, the ultimate tax collector."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’›- SUTHRA SHAH!

SUTHRA SHAH!

Suthra Shah was a great devotee of Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. He lived on to serve our extremely amazing tenth Guru (Gobind Singh ji). Bhai Sahib ji had a great humour! All his teachings came through his humour. Guru Sahibaans had immense love for him.

Suthra was found on a pile of hay, after being abandoned by his family. He was abandoned, because he had a black mark on his forehead and his teeth were very big. Most people looked at this as bad luck in those days. Guru Sahib took him in. Guru Ji's Sikhs always complained that Suthra was very mischievous. Guru sahib ji changed his name from khuthra (dirty and ugly) to Suthra (pure within).

One day, a complaint was made to Guru Ji by their Sikhs, that Suthra is swearing at them. Guru ji said, "Call Suthra right away." Is this true Suthre?"

"No Guru Ji, they are lying said Suthra."

The singhs replied, "Suthra has even started lying now."

Suthra asked, when and what he said. The Sikhs named each and every exact moment. Suthra said, "Oh yes I remember, it's true. Guru Ji l, these are my Sikhs not yours. Ask them what shabad (teachings) you recited at rehras prayer yesterday." No answer from the Sikhs. The Sikhs embarrassingly replied, "Suthra is wrong for saying we are not your Sikhs Guru Ji."

"They remember my bad shabads (words) and not your beautiful teachings of wisdom. what does that make them Guru Ji?" Laughingly responded Suthra. Guru Ji embraced Suthra tight to his chest.

This is our state today! We remember all the false teachings, gossip and slander of the world, yet have no clue about what our Guru is saying to us or teaching us how to live. We struggle through life without Guru ji.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji says, "That carefree Vaheguroo can not be appraised; his real value is only known through the wisdom of the Guruโ€™s teachings."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’š- WIND!

WIND!

The wind is blowing

through every home.

Some windows are broken,

whilst others

Remain closed.

The manmukhs (mind followers) look outwards

at the homes of others.

Surveying the damage

their foundations feel stronger.

But only a fool

looks at others.

Opening their windows,

they invite the wind.

The Gurmukh locks

the latches tight,

sitting within

so far from the wind.

The wind is blowing

through every home.

Some windows are broken

whilst others

remain closed.

Look within yourself, don't look outside, you will suffer. Live by practicing Guru Ji's teachings and you will remain untouched.

Game of love ๐Ÿ’œ- SING AND LISTEN!

SING AND LISTEN!

"Sing and listen. Your pain shall be sent far away and peace shall come to your home."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

Singing and listening to inspirational words brings peace and contentment. Steal a few moments for faith and you will find that this makes you a greater person.

What's the reason for the above?

Many experiments have been carried out, where an equal amount of rice and water are added to two jars. Positive words are placed on the outside of one and negative words on the outside of the other. These words are repeated by the same person daily at various, different times for the same length of time. The result in the end, always shows the rice in the negative words jar always moulds a lot quicker than the positive words jar. 3min vid below.

What is the reason for this?

The body is made up of about 60% water. This experiment shows the negative and positive effects by words, thoughts and emotions on water.

We need to understand the energy of being positive. A positive person always has a positive affect on people. Their aura and energy is always extremely powerful and vice versa. A positive person speaks through their heart and soul. A negative person speaks through their egotistical mind.

Singing and listening to the pure words of Guru Ji, is pure food for the soul. These words (shabads) are created by totally pure beings. They affect our being, even if we don't understand them. Just imagine how these words and praises of Vaheguroo would affect our being when they are understood and sang with true love. Think about how they will affect our mind, body, soul and also the people around us..

We need to recognise, we have been blessed the gift of Gurbani (Gurus word). let's find the correct sangat and profit from it..

Guru Amardas Ji says, "In this dark age of kaljug, the singing of Vaheguroo's praise has appeared as a light in this world."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’™- JEWELLERS SHOP

JEWELLERS SHOP

"The body is a jewellers shop."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

The body contains many jewels. If you search deep within yourself, through sincere effort, the Guru will bless you and you will realise that there are many jewels within you. Start shopping for these jewels now.

The mind is the most powerful thing on the planet. Every being in the universe, has been blessed with a mind but only human beings have been blessed with the potential to purify it and liberate it.

The mind, body and soul has many jewels.  When searching deep within the soul and mind, one begins to realise how powerful we really are as humans.

Through meditation on Vaheguroo's name, one is blessed with many different states of spirituality. Ones mind can develop many spiritual powers.

Most God loving beings, build their character as a human through meditation, loving Gods creation, seeing God in all, becoming virtuous, pure beings and liberating their soul. They avoid dwelling in spiritual powers, as they can disrupt the mind and one can begin to dwell in their own ego. Ego is the vice that one controls and conquers to become humble and merge with Vaheguroo.

Look within yourself to find the jewel of Naam meditation and develop as a complete human being.

Guru ji will guide you within, through the divine wisdom of Naam meditation.

Guru Arjun Dev ji says "No human can get through this life in constant peace, love and happiness without naam meditation."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’›- SERVICE!

SERVICE!

Voluntary service helps both the giver and the needy. Taking some time out to help others on their life journey ultimately helps yours. To know that you can help and comfort others, makes you realise the depth and importance of your own life.

There are three types of service in Gurmat (Guruโ€™s teachings). Firstly, serving God (Vaheguroo) through meditation. Secondly, physical service through our actions for the benefit of others, which is also serving Vaheguroo. Thirdly, giving a tenth of our earnings to the needy or any charity. This is also another way of serving Vaheguroo.

When we serve in the way above, we become very humble and Vaheguroo blesses us with a completely content and also an ecstatic state of mind. The ones that serve Vaheguroo in this way, are served by Vaheguroo in return. Vaheguroo doesn't just serve them, he serves their generations also to come.

"Through selfless service, eternal peace is obtained." Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

Game of love ๐Ÿ’š- YOUR WORD! (BACHAN KARNA)

YOUR WORD! (BACHAN KARNA)

Back in the days, the Guruโ€™s Sikhs had a very strong character and were respected very highly for it. If a sikh was witness to any injustice, their word was taken as Gospel and believed without any doubt or question. One of Guru sahib Ji's 52 commands was, a sikh will never lie or turn a blind eye as a witness.

Today our word and character as humans has become very weak. we give our word and never see it through. Then we say chal koyna (oh never mind, it's ok). Back in the days, our word was our character. Whatever we said, we made sure it was actioned. We lived and died by our word. No one would want to get on the wrong side of a sikh and upset them, Incase they spoke some harsh words and were forced to follow them through. Their zubaan (toungue/word) was everything.

"Those who have one thing in their heart and something else in their mouth, are judged to be false." Bhagat Farid Ji

The shabad above is beautiful. Guru sahib ji also talks about kissing the feet and face of those, who have recognised the truth through the love of Vaheguroo's meditation.

Today we make false promises, we fail to acknowledge other Sikhs with a fateh (sikh greeting) or acknowledge via text, email, social media etc. We are very poor at being punctual because of our punjabi mentality. The list goes on. Guru sahib says, 'The one who respects time, I call them a true human.'

Our Mann (mind), Bach (word) and Karam (actions) all need to be pure. This will make us True Khalsa (pure ones), that Guru ji created.

It's easy to be false and fake. Genuine truthful human beings will always be respected and stand out amongst others.

Our word (bachan) remains pure only through meditation on Vaheguroo's name. Be true to yourself, true to your Guru and true to others. Keep your word!

"They are so brave; they are men of their word."

Game of love โค๏ธ- IGNORANCE!

IGNORANCE!

"The shabad (Vaheguroo) dispels the spiritual ignorance within and through the True Guru, one finds peace."
Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

One morning, when our new teacher of 'Introduction to the Rights' entered the classroom, the first thing he did was to ask the name of a student seated on the front bench:
โ€œWhat is your name?โ€
โ€œMy name is Harjan, Sir.โ€
โ€œLeave the classroom immediately and I don't want to ever see you in my class again!โ€ screamed the teacher.
Harjan was bewildered but, when he got hold of his senses, he got up quickly, collected his belongings and left the classroom.

All were scared and angry but none did or said anything.
โ€œWellโ€ฆ,โ€ said the new teacher, โ€œwhom do the enacted Laws serve?โ€
We were all afraid but slowly gained confidence and began to answer his questions.
โ€œSo that there is order in societyโ€.
โ€œNo!โ€ the teacher responded.
โ€œTo accomplish them."
โ€œNo!โ€
โ€œSo that the people who wrong others pay for their actions?โ€
โ€œNo! Does nobody here know the answer to this question?"
โ€œSo that there is justice,โ€ a girl said timidly.
โ€œAt last! Thatโ€™s it... so that there is justice! And now, what is the use of justice?โ€
All began to feel uneasy with such a rude attitude but followed on answering:
โ€œTo safeguard human rights...โ€
โ€œWell, what more?โ€ asked the teacher.
โ€œTo differentiate right from wrong... to reward the good...!โ€
โ€œOk... not bad, however,... answer this: Did I act rightly when expelling Harjan from the classroom earlierโ€ฆ?โ€
All were quiet, nobody answered.
โ€œI want a decisive and unanimous answer!โ€
โ€œNo!" we all replied in unison.
โ€œWould you say I committed injustice?โ€
โ€œYes!โ€
โ€œAnd why did nobody do or say anything about that then? Why do we have or need Laws and Rules, if we don't have the will needed to practice them? Each and every one of you has the obligation to complain when you witness injustice. Remember, each and every one of you!ย  Do not stay quietโ€ฆ never again! Now go and call Harjan back,โ€ he said staring at me.

That day, I received the most practical lesson ever in my entire Law course.
When we don't defend our Rights, we lose our dignity, and dignity is never negotiable! Guruโ€™s Sikhs should never turn a blind eye! They should always remain righteous! Don't tolerate others being mistreated in front of you! This is the true nature of a spiritual Gursikh!

Game of love ๐Ÿ’œ- IMMOVABLE FAITH!

IMMOVABLE FAITH!

This story took place four years ago. A sikh soldier was celebrating the martyrdom of Guru ArjunDev ji. He was meditating on Vaheguroo's name, whilst preparing and serving langar (food). Just then, a Hindu officer approached the soldier and very rudely asked, "What are you doing here?" The soldier explained the story of Guru ArjunDev Ji's martyrdom with great love.
The Hindu officer very rudely spoke for the second time and said, "How is this possible? No human can sit on a burning hot plate." The officer continued being very rude and kept questioning the soldier. He kept saying, 'This is a joke, it can not be true.'

The soldier got very upset in listening to this and went and sat on a burning hot plate, where the langar (food) was being prepared. When witnessing this, the officer burst out in to tears and quickly rushed to get the soldier off the plate. He fell at his feet and repeated, "You Sikhs are amazing people. Your faith is immovable! You are very pure at heart and you can not accept the disrespect of your Guru." The soldier lifted the officer and embraced him with a hug.ย

If we have faith in Guru ji, nothing will come near us. Guru ji will always be our saviour and protect us. Gain your faith in Guru Ji!

Game of love ๐Ÿ’™- IDENTITY!

IDENTITY!

Daas used to be mona (cut hair) many years ago, until Guru sahib ji took pitty on me and blessed me in their divine sanctuary. Whilst sat there, the speaker on the stage was talking about Guru Teghbahadur Jiโ€™s sacrifice for the Hindu faith.

Cutting a long story very short, the Hindu hill kings were being converted to Islam. They were given an option to convert or to bring a saint, who will sacrifice his head, in order to save their faith.

The Hindus approached the ninth Guru, Guru Teghbahadur ji and requested for a saint to sacrifice their head. Gobind Rai (Guru Gobind Singh Ji, son of Guru Teghbahadur), at the age of 5 spoke and said, "There is no greater saint than you father, to give your head and save the Hindu faith." Guru ji accepted and they were beheaded. Guru Ji was named, 'Hindh di Chadar' (the saviour of Hinduism).

Guru Ji's head was brought back to Gobind Rai. They asked how many Sikhs were present? Bhai Jetha replied, "There were many sikh families but I couldn't recognise any. They all looked like Muslims and Hindus."

Gobind Rai responded by saying, "I will create such a Khalsa, that will stand out in thousands. All my khalsa will keep their kesh (hair) and both males and females will wear tall turbans."

When hearing this story, I went home, looked in the mirror and saw myself as a None sikh person with the surname Singh, standing at the mirror. From that day onwards, I did ardaas for Guru Ji to bless me and never looked back since. Guru ji took immense pitty.

I was faced with many difficulties and problems, whilst keeping my hair but If we have faith in Guru Ji and ardaas, they will pull us through and never let us down. Guru Ji loves us more than we can ever comprehend.

Guru sahib blessed his Sikhs with sardaaree (turbans). Only highly
respected, rich people were allowed to wear a turban back in the days. Guru ji said, "All my sikhs will wear a turban and no one will have the courage to stop them."

"Purify what is impure and let the lordโ€™s presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’›- SELF-DISCIPLINE

SELF-DISCIPLINE

"One can not be called a sikh without physical/spiritual discipline. One will suffer at every door."

Rehitnama, Amrit kirtan

Most of the 'Game Of Love' posts have been based on spiritual discipline (rehit). We have not really spoken much on physical discipline.

Physical discipline is as important in a Sikhโ€™s life, as spiritual discipline. They both go hand in hand. One can not be complete without the other. Physical discipline protects and holds the spiritual shabad (word/mantra) within the mind.

Guru sahib has made it clear, without Amrit, Guru, Sangat and spiritual/physical rehit (discipline), we can not be complete and liberate our soul. For a sikh, the Guru's way is a must!

The minimum discipline for a sikh is 5Kโ€™s (panj kakaar) through an Amrit Sanchaar ceremony. Many baptised Sikhs keep additional disciple i.e. Bana (attire) and a preparation of their own food.

Every army has it's own uniform and discipline. We are the army of God (akaal purakh ki fauj), so in the same way, we have ours.

Many people argue saying, 'Only the mind needs to be pure and we don't need to accept the Amrit.' It always makes me ask, 'So was Guru Gobind Singh Ji's mind not pure for them to create the blessed Amrit (blessed nectar)?' Amrit means to bring the dead back to life (shedding light on the ignorant mind). Guru ji created the Amrit, blessed it to 5 singhs and then begged for it from them (panj).

If we are meditating on Vaheguroo's name, we will only truly be blessed and feel the full affect of it, when we go to the panj (5 singhs) and beg for the name in the blessed presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj Ji.

Guru Amardas Ji Says, "Jath sath thap pavith sareeraa har har ma(n)n vasaaeae."
Abstinence, truthfulness and self-discipline are obtained, and the body is purified; the Lord, Har, Har, comes to dwell within the mind.

Game of love ๐Ÿ’š- THE SECRET WITHIN

THE SECRET WITHIN

There is a secret within us all. Many people search outside for those things that will answer their souls questions. However, contemplating on the innermost you and through sincere effort and blessing, you will find that all the answers to your questions are found within.

We all ignore the fact that death can take us at any time. No one knows when they will breathe their last breath.

Lately, I have experienced many young deaths. There one minute and gone the next. We always think the elders will pass away first. We live as though we will never die. When our time comes, we will have to depart. Who can save us from leaving this body, when death calls. No one will be able to come anywhere near to help us.

We spend most of our life studying, working, saving money, buying land, buying many houses, buying many cars and living luxurious life styles. When our time is up, none of this is going with us. We will leave it all behind. We put our mind and body through so much stress and pressure to earn all we have, yet it will all be left behind. We will not even get the space of a bathroom in the house we spent many years earning for.

Guru sahib ji says, 'We have a life valued as aย  diamond, yet we waste it for mere shells.'

The secret within is Gur Amrit Naam. Meditation on this Naam is the only substance which will fulfil our soul and answer all our minds desires. Through this Naam we will be blessed with respect, love and knowledge of this world and the spirit world.

Naam, Gurbaani and the loved blessings (asseesaa) of Gursikhs, is the only gem which will support our soul on the other side.

"Deep within the self is the secret, but the fool looks for it outside."

Game of love โค๏ธ- COMPANY!

COMPANY!

"Saintly people continually peck at the divine name, like swans pecking at pearls in the ocean."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

The company of saintly and good people is sought by all. Seek the company of those who make you feel happy, comfortable and peaceful. Soon, you will find that you become like them and enrich your own daily feelings and experiences.

Meditation on Naam is what develops saintly people. Guru sahib says, 'when we remember Vaheguroo with love, in single minded concentration, in that instants we become saintly.'

Saintly people never let go of the Naam, as they are aware, it's only the naam that will purify their mind from negativity and guide them through this terrifying world ocean.

We will always become like our company, whether it's positive or negative, so it's very important we seek the company of like minded spiritual beings. Our sangat (company) will always pull us through in the end.

"The treacherous and terrifying world ocean is crossed over, in the boat of the saadh sangat (spiritual company)." Guru Arjun Dev Ji

Game of love ๐Ÿ’œ- INSPIRE OTHERS!

INSPIRE OTHERS!

Bhai Vir Singh Ji's wisdom on Naam Meditation.

His was another era in which he studied Panjabi, sanskrit, braj, persian, urdu and English. He wrote countless books including classics like Sundri and Vijay Singh and took on the right wing Hinduvata who were determined to break Sikhs from their independent and unique Sikhi.

Here are a few of his words on Naam ..

When this eternal, pure light meets with the spark of light within you, at that moment enlightenment takes place. Your life, as you know it ceases. This pure light transforms you. Wonder and gratitude fill every pore of your being.

If this union does not take place, then you continue to live like an extinguished lamp, low in spirits and powerless to rise above worldly desires. This is the cause of pain and suffering. So train your mind to always remain in the presence of the Divine.

Think, when you remember someone, is your attention not that person? Attention is the essence in this world. When you give something your total attention, the work gets accomplished. But when the attention gets diverted, the work suffers. When a student gives his attention to his education, he gets educated. Similarly, if you focus your attention on the Divine and its attributes, you too will reap the benefits. So raise your consciousness above the seen world and focus your attention on the Divine.

When you begin to feel the love of the Divine within your mind and body, know that grace has been bestowed. This is Naam.

Dyed in the love of the Divine you will see the Divine pervading everywhere. This is naam.

When your attention turns from the seen world, towards the Divine world, that is also naam.

Naam is not mere repetition.

Naam is repetition, recitation, remembrance and sensation.

Naam is life!

Naam is grace!

Naam is the divine light meeting the light within you.

Naam is love, devotion, ecstasy and rapture.

Naam is when in your remembrance of the Divine, you feel a heavenly sensation on your tongue.

Naam is when all the cells in your body get immersed in the love of the Divine and the flow of blood through your veins resounds with the sensation of the Divine.

Every pore, every cell rejoices. At that moment, you are truly awake. You are truly alive.

To know naam; to understand naam, you must have faith. Faith, that the Divine is all-pervading. Faith, that in the seen and unseen world, it is the Formless One that permeates. Faith, that invisible to the naked eye, the Pure Light of the Divine is in each and every being. Faith, that the Divine is eternal strength. Faith, that the power and ways of the Divine cannot be known by mortals, for the Divine is immortal.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji Says, "Naam vihoonaa mukath kiv hoee."

Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, how can anyone find liberation?

Game of love ๐Ÿ’™- LOVE FOR GURSIKHS!

LOVE FOR GURSIKHS!

The humility of Guru Ramdas Ji is immense. 1534-1581

"O Gurmukhs, O my friends and companions, give me the gift of the Lord's Name, the life of my very life.

I am the slave, the servant of the Guru's Sikhs, who meditate on the Lord God, the Primal Being, night and day. Within my mind and body, I have enshrined love for the feet of the Guru's Sikhs. O my life-mates, O Sikhs of the Guru, O Siblings of Destiny, instruct me in the Teachings, that I might merge in the Lord's Merger."

Bapu Ji (father, Guru ji) shared something amazing yesterday. He said, 'We can measure someone's love for Sikhi and Guru Sahib, by seeing how they treat other Gursikhs and Sangat.'

Gursikhs belong to Guru Sahib, so if we have love for Guru Sahib, we will automatically have love for everything related to Guru Sahib, especially his Gursikhs.

Reminds me of something someone else had said earlier, that we should kiss the feet of even a dog that lives near a Gursikhโ€™s house! But sometimes we fail to even treat Gursikhs with any love, forget about the dog. Love is very distant. We find it very easy to hurt and disrespect Gursikhs (Guru's children).

If we hurt the feelings or inflict any form of pain and suffering upon anyone, let alone Guru's Sikhs, Guru Sahib Ji will not be happy with the way we have conducted ourselves in our Pavittar (pure) form. We become a stain upon our fatherโ€™s (Guru Gobind Singh Ji) turban.

We have lost our love for Guru Sahib Ji! This is the reason why we don't have the same love for Gursikhs anymore. We don't live our lives according to the Gurbaani lines quoted at the top of the page.

"Gurbaani Banneeai" ang (page) 304. Guru Ramdas Ji says, 'become Gurbaani, the walking figure of Guru Jiโ€™s perfect and spiritual teachings.'

Can we truly say we are taking steps to become like Gurbaani? Are we true to our hearts and Guru Ji? Do we love Guru's Sikhs, even if their views are slightly different or contrary to ours? Have we lost our patience and failed to develop Guru Ji's loving virtue of tolerance? DO WE SEE GOD IN ALL? Do we think we have more of a hold on Gurmat (Guru's teachings) than other Sikhs of the Guru? Do we think we have the right to behave in an anti Gurmat way, if we feel others have disrespected our way of thinking? Some points to ponder on! If we answer the questions above honestly, they should give us an idea of how close we actually really are to Guru Ji.

"All Gursikhs actions should only be according to Gurmat."

The sign of true Gursikhs love will be when they recognise and do saanj (look at views shared) of Gurmat and ignore the contrary. Views shared by Gursikhs will always outweigh views contrary at around 90%-10%.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji Says,ย  "Saanj kareejai guneh kaeree shhodd avagan chaleeai."

Let us form a partnership, and share our virtues; let us abandon our faults, and walk on the Path together.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji - "Hoe eikathr milahu maerae bhaaee dhubidhhaa dhoor karahu liv laae."

Come and join together, O my Siblings of Destiny; dispel your sense of duality and let yourselves be lovingly absorbed in the Lord.

"Har naamai kae hovahu jorree guramukh baisahu safaa vishhaae."

Let yourselves be joined to the Name of God; become Gurmukh, spread out your mat, and sit down together.

Game of love ๐Ÿ’›- POWER!

POWER!

"I respectively bow to those who have power, yet remain humble."

Bhai Gurdas Ji 1551-1636

Power can destroy or heal. Power can turn the mind away from the needs of the soul. Those people who have power yet attend to the needs of the spirit, realise what true power is. When you have true power, always remember your humility towards others.

Power can come in many forms. Some people have the power and wealth of money. Some people have the power of status, authority and positions.

Everyone is powerful in their own way. Guru sahib ji tells us, the most powerful human being is the one who remembers God (Vaheguroo). If we don't remember God, all worldly power and wealth is worthless. We need to remember all we have is Godโ€™s (Guru Jiโ€™s). They can give and take back at any time.

The God loving human being, will always remain humble, even if they have all the wealth and power in the world.

The aura and energy of Naam will always keep them radiant and powerful in both this world and the next (spirit world).

Let's forget fighting for worldly positions, as in the end these positions will be filled by others, after we depart. We will only be remembered, if we have loved, respected and genuinely helped others, whilst having the power of these worldly positions.

Guru ArjunDev Ji Says, "All wealth, power and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of Naam."

Game of love ๐Ÿ’š- PARENTS!

PARENTS!

"O son, why do you argue with your father? It is a sin to argue with those who nurtured and raised you."

Guru Ramdas Ji 1534-1581

In this day and age, it has become the norm to disrespect our elders and get away with it.

We have started to think they should do as we say and not the other way round. Parents also have adopted this philosophy and have started to let children get away with disrespecting them.

Equality has hit another level. We want to be equals with everyone and everything they do.

When daas was growing up, whatever our parents said was final, no questions asked. In this way, love and respect stayed intact.

We have forgotten about all that our parents have done for us. They brought us in to this world, nurtured us, clothed us, educated us and fed us. The question is, what haven't they done for us?

In reality, we can not pay our parents back for what they have done for us. Without them, we wouldn't be who we are today.

Please remember this the next time we have a petty falling out with our parents.

Guru sahib ji has given parents the respect of God, as they gave us our first teachings. Let's remember all the good they have done for us and guarantee we will never upset them again. Their short falls come no where near.

Ego and anger is only controlled through meditation, which creates a balance within.

"The Name of The Lord is the medicine; it is like an axe, which destroys the diseases caused by anger and egotism." Guru ArjunDev Ji

Unconditional love is the only substance we can repay our parents back with.

Game of love โค๏ธ- GURU!

GURU!

"Leaving a side the philosophers stone in the form of the True Guru, people go on searching the materialistic philosophers stone."

Bhai Gurdaas Ji 1551-1636

A young child went to a Gursikh and stated, that no matter how hard he tried to keep Gurbani in his heart, he just could not understand or keep it there. He stated, that his mind was not a bucket but a strainer, which let everything pass through and did not contain the meaning of Gurbani.

The Gursikh said "Let us try an experiment. Here is a strainer and here is some water. Now pour a bucket of water through the strainer." The child did this and said, "See, the water was not contained, it just passed through. My mind is just like this." The Gursikh said "Do it once more," so he did, and still the water passed through the strainer. The Gursikh said, "Do it ten times at least." The child did, and at the end of this experiment he said, "See, water still passes through, no matter how many times and how many buckets we pass through it." The Gursikh said, "Look carefully at the strainer and see if there is any thing different." The child did, and his eyes were fillled with tears and he said, "Yes, I see the difference now. The grimy dirty strainer is now shiny and bright, like never before."

The Gursikh said, "My son, this is what Gurbani does for you. It cleans your mind and even if you do not realise it, it still slowly cleanses your mind and protects you from the five vices. The more you recite Gurbani, your mind will not only become shinier but become like the bucket itself, which will not only become clean but hold the meaning of Gurbani in your heart." The child smiled and felt he had received the best example of the power of Gurbani ever.

Gurbani is that detergent that cleanses the mind of its dirt. The more we rub our mind with Gurbani, the cleaner it will get. Dhur kee Baani is full of Amrit. Whoever utters Baani of Satguroo, literally drinks Amrit.

"Gurbaani is the light to illuminate this world; by his grace, it comes to abide within the mind." Guru Amardas Ji.
