UNDERSTANDING POLITICS
It's very important as Sikhs we understand politics. Just recently, we have been targeted by external agencies, Indian government, our own so called leadership, our Guru has been disrespected, we have lost lives in Punjab, Sikhs have been humiliated by the British Police etc.
In these situations, it's very important we work with our hosh (conscious relaxed, calm mind) not josh (anger/emotions). Otherwise, we get made to look silly through bad press and media.
We don't want to give Sikhi and Guru's roop a bad name. We have to remember who and what we are representing and it should be preserved in the best possible manner and attitude.
We understand the police were forceful, a Nishan Sahib was disrespected, women were forced to move off the road, a Singhs turban was removed, the police were saying, "We don't care about what's going on in India." We are all saddened by these events and all support the cause fully but we need to remember in times like this, when we need the support from as many nations/communities as possible, we need to behave and act in a more appropriate, diplomatic and humble manner. We need to show the British and other nations, we are a peace, loving, hard and honest working community, as they already know we are.
There were many with their faces covered, dressed very suspiciously representing the Sikhs on this peaceful protest. There were many who were not Amritdhaaree carrying big Kirpana. There were many youth provoking the situation by pushing others forward and there were many swearing disgustingly at the police. This is in no way how Guru Sahibs Sikhs should behave. Guru Sahibs Sikhs have a very powerful, loving, humble, truthful and righteous character and will always be loved and respected by all for doing the right thing.
We have protested now for many years and never have had a problem with the police. This protest was led by the youth. Usually the protests are led by our elders. They have cooler heads and we respect the decisions they make when present. The protest was also taking place outside the Indian Embassy when it was closed for the Indian public holiday of Duseraa, which made no sense.
We all support the protests 100% but we need to "WAKE UP" to the cleverness of external agencies and understand politics. They want us to behave in this way so we look wrong for what is happening to our brothers and sisters in India. They want to portray us in a negative light. We need to "WAKE UP" to their politics and understand it and not let our fathers turban ever be stained by our actions.
They would have planted trouble makers in the protest too. These trouble makers would have been the ones pushing, shoving, swearing, faces masked, wearing big Kirpans etc. Just because somebody wears a bana and ties a dastaar, does not mean they are faithful to Guru Ji. Many of these have sold their faith. These are the people in which hurt us the most and we need to be most wary of. Because of these people, our innocent brothers and sisters faced avoidable consequences last week in London.
Guru ke pyaareo, let's "WAKE UP", understand politics, not fall in to their trap, work with our intellect and not our frustration and anger.
All this is a blessing in disguise and the will of Guru Ji is very sweet. The main thing is, the majority of our brothers and sisters have put all their differences aside and united as one under their fathers name. Guru Sahib will bless his service to his beloveds and bless us to be victorious always. We just need to have faith and Guru Sahib will sort the rest effortlessly.
If we remain united, we will always be successful!!
Become Gurmukh through Gurus Naam and baani meditation. Live our life by the truth according to Guru Ji's teachings and let's become just like Gurbaani. Improve our character immensely and Khalsa Raaj will be blessed to us without any effort!! This is where we are struggling and failing rapidly!!
Guru Nanak Dev Ji Says, "raajae seeh mukadham kuthae ||
The kings are tigers, and their officials are dogs;
they go out and awaken the sleeping people to harass them.
The public servants inflict wounds with their nails.
The dogs lick up the blood that is spilled.
But there, in the Court of the Lord, all beings will be judged.
Those who have violated the people's trust will be disgraced; their noses will be cut off."
