LEARNING FROM ALL!
On the weekend, I was driving in the pouring rain and saw a man going for a run with his dog. The dog was so in tune with his owner. Even though it was pouring with rain, the dog was still prepared to run besides his owner to show his loyalty and love. It was slightly leading the man on the route. It was stopping at traffic lights, when it saw red and stopping at kerbs.
I was overcome with admiration for the dog. How loyal he was to his owner, how enraptured he was with his owner. The unconditional love it had for him was immense.
Guru Sahib Ji has praised these qualities in a dog. Even when a dog is beaten, it will still never leave the house of its owner and still extends its paw as a sign of friendship.
I think we should all look at ourselves and contemplate the wonderful qualities Vaheguroo has hidden away in his creation.
A sikh is the one who takes the positive from all. He/she learns from everyones negatives and positive. They look at the negatives and consider themselves never to be that way. They see the positive qualities in others and add them to their loving, sweet character.
We have become very ignorant and we have not realised how we are wasting this gem of a human life. We live in our little bubbles ignoring and seeing past the compassionate, loving, kind, loyal acts of others, yet We do not wish to better ourselves.
It's difficult to do this without the Guru and sangat. When we do sangat with Guru Ji by reading and living their teachings, Guru ji blesses us with their paraskalla (a touch in which transforms the universe). The power of Gurbaani is immeasurable. Once it connects with the soul, the soul is left to sore through the peace, loving words of Shabad Guru.
Let's open our minds and find like minded sangat and pray that Guru Ji always blesses us and guides us in to their laps, so we can also experience the sublime gift of Naam, that very few have tasted.
Guru Teghbahadur Says, "A dog never abandons the home of his master. O Nanak, in just the same way, vibrate and meditate on the Lord, single-mindedly, with one-pointed consciousness."
Vaheguroo!
