Game of love 384- SLANDER

SLANDER

"Slandering others amounts to putting filth into ones own mouth."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

Slander can never lead to good. Simply avoid denigrating others. Accept the good and bad in all.

How does slandering others generate filth in our own mouth? When we talk and slander others, people will listen but one will never be trusted by anyone. Our mouth will always be full of negative words (filth). Slander is a habit which dies very hard and is contagious to all. We don't want to be the root cause of slanderers slandering.

We only slander others when we are insecure in ourself. If we were happy, content and at peace with our inner-self, we would never slander anyone. If we saw all as one and saw all as a part of our human family, we would never slander.

What causes us to slander? There are many reasons: Boredom, a wandering mind, taking things personal, misinterpretation, misunderstanding, insecurity, desire, impatience, intolerance, grief, anger, lust, attachment, personal ego, jealousy, selfishness and the list goes on.

If all of the above was replaced by love, contentment, compassion, truth, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, kindness, open mindedness and most of all faith, we would never slander again.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji says, "Vaheguroo (God) causes slanderers to lose their honour. Their tongue and ears are a sleep, they carry the load of others for nothing. In the end their face is blackened."

Through constant meditation on Gods Naam, ones mind is purified and saved from slander.

We don't want to be known as slanderers!

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 383- SING AND LISTEN

SING AND LISTEN

"Sing and listen. Your pain shall be sent far away and peace shall come to your home."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

Singing and listening to inspirational words brings peace and contentment. Steal a few moments for faith and you will find that this makes you a greater person.

What's the reason for the above?

Many experiments have been carried out, where an equal amount of rice and water are added to two jars. Positive words are placed on the outside of one and negative words on the outside of the other. These words are repeated by the same person daily at various, different times for the same length of time. The result in the end, always shows the rice in the negative words jar always moulds a lot quicker than the positive words jar. 3min vid below.

What is the reason for this?

The body is made up of about 60% water. This experiment shows the negative and positive effects by words, thoughts and emotions on water.

We need to understand the energy of being positive. A positive person always has a positive effect on people. Their aura and energy is always extremely powerful and vice versa. A positive person speaks through their heart and soul. A negative person speaks through their egotistical mind.

Singing and listening to the pure words of Guru Ji is pure food for the soul. These words (shabads) are created by totally pure beings. They affect our being, even if we don't understand them. Just imagine how these words and praises of Vaheguroo would affect our being when they are understood and sang with true love. Think about how they will affect our mind, body, soul and also the people around us..

We need to recognise, we have been blessed the gift of Gurbani (Gurus word). let's find the correct sangat and profit from it..

Guru Amardas Ji says, "In this dark age of kaljug, the singing of Vaheguroo's praise has appeared as a light in this world."

Game of love 382- SHOP

SHOP

"The body is a jewellers shop."

Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

The body contains many jewels. If you search deep within yourself, through sincere effort, the Guru will bless you and you will realise that there are many jewels within you. Start shopping for these jewels now.

The mind is the most powerful thing on the planet. Every being in the universe, has been blessed with a mind but only human beings have been blessed with the potential to purify it and liberate it.

The mind, body and soul has many jewels.  When searching deep within the soul and mind, one begins to realise how powerful we really are as humans.

Through meditation on Vaheguroo's name, one is blessed with many different states of spirituality. Ones mind can develop many spiritual powers.

Most God loving beings, build their character as a human through meditation, loving Gods creation, seeing God in all, becoming virtuous, pure beings and liberating their soul. They avoid dwelling in spiritual powers, as they can disrupt the mind and one can begin to dwell in their own ego. Ego is the vice one controls and conquers to become humble and merge with Vaheguroo.

Look within yourself to find the jewel of Naam meditation and develop as a complete human being.

Guru ji will guide you within, through the divine wisdom of Naam meditation.

Guru Arjun Dev ji says "No human can get through this life in constant peace, love and happiness without naam meditation."

Game of love 381- SERVICE

SERVICE

Voluntary service helps both the giver and the needy. Taking some time out to help others on their life journey ultimately helps yours. To know that you can help and comfort others, makes you realise the depth and importance of your own life.

There are three types of service in Gurmat (Gurus teachings). Firstly, serving God (Vaheguroo) through meditation. Secondly, physical service through our actions for the benefit of others, which is also serving Vaheguroo. Thirdly, giving a tenth of our earnings to the needy or any charity. This is also another way of serving Vaheguroo.

When we serve in the way above, we become very humble and Vaheguroo blesses us with a completely content and also an ecstatic state of mind. The ones that serve Vaheguroo in this way, are served by Vaheguroo in return. Vaheguroo doesn't just serve them, he serves their generations also to come.

"Through selfless service, eternal peace is obtained." Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

Game of love 380- SELF-RESPECT

SELF-RESPECT

Respect yourself. Once you can appreciate your self worth, then you can begin to respect and understand your surroundings..

Guru Sahib Ji's Sikhs should all be saint/soldiers. If we don't have self respect, it will be difficult to be righteous and defend the honour of others.

There is a huge difference between personal ego and self respect. If someone is bullied physically or mentally, it is ok to retaliate after 2 or 3 times of stopping the oppressor. People without self respect struggle to be righteous, as they struggle to help themselves, which makes them very weak.

If we don't have self respect, this opens up the doors for others to be bullied/oppressed around us.

It's important in life, we live with self respect (annakh), we are righteous but not through personal ego but only divine pride. If we remain humble and virtuous whilst living in this way, we will be respected more by the blessings of Guru Ji.

"If one lives without self-respect, all that one eats goes to waste." Guru Nanak Dev Ji 1469-1539

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 379- The SELF

The SELF

"Those who recognise the self, their minds become pure."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

Those who do not recognise their inner selves are continually fraught with anxiety. Understand and respect who you are. Only through self recognition can peace come within your being.

When we recognise the inner self, we recognise the true us. The true us is Vaheguroo (God). Until we recognise we are Vaheguroo and Vaheguroo is all around us, we will wander around lost in this world.

When we recognise the true us, (our soul) we begin to feel love and contentment within. We are surrounded with peace and happiness at all times. People around us also feel this love and happiness and experience it in our presence.

This will only happen by conquering the mind's desires through meditation. Then the True Guru will bless us with their pure gift of peace, joy and a saintly presence.

"By the grace of the saints, all people and their generations are saved; O Nanak, they are not engrossed in worldly pleasures." Guru Arjun Dev Ji.

Game of love 378- BRIGHT LIGHT

BRIGHT LIGHT

Once upon a time, there was a bright light. It was a Big Beautiful Light that filled up everything everywhere and thats all there was.

β€˜I am’ β€˜I am... I am the one in every one’

Like the sun it shone and the light was made of love and happiness. One time, the Big Beautiful Light got so happy it exploded with joy. Little pieces made of light began to appear. All of the pieces of light vibrated with love. Everything we see and hear and everything we cannot see or hear. All of it is filled with the Great Light. Now, near the big beautiful light, there were lots of little lights like sparks. All the little sparks loved being near the big beautiful light but some of the sparks got further and further away. The further away they got, the sadder they became. They longed to return to the Big Light, because that was where they were at their happiest.

In the Big Light, I feel at home, even though I am further away now. It is still ok, because I have some of the Big Light inside of me.

Then one day, a little spark came into the world, in the form of a beautiful girl. She was the youngest out of five children, who came as sparks. All of the other sparks wanted her to be just like them but she was different.

My Dearest spark, Don’t worry about the voices outside.  Just chant the name of the Guru within.

Vaheguroo... Vaheguroo... Vaheguroo

I am with you now, I will always be with you.

She sparked very beautifully, because she remembered the Big Light inside of her.
As the little girl grew older, she began to forget her Beautiful Big Light and was more interested in family, friends and school.

The world was an exciting place, there were lots of good people - and some not so good.

Years passed and the girl had little children of her own. She loved them for they were close to the Big Beautiful light too!! She loved to take them to the park and play with them and have lots of fun together.

The little spark proclaimed, "Now I understand, the Big Beautiful Light has created a big universe and in that wonderful universe, there are lots of little sparks everywhere, in the trees, grass and rocks. And there are sparks inside of every animal and person. But sometimes I forget and then I feel lonely and sad and I just want to be with you again. Sometimes, I have remembered you and sometimes I forgot you. How can I always remember You and never forget You?"

Oh my dear, sweet spark, I have not left you for a moment. Every time you want to feel me.... meditate on the Naam. Rise in the early hours of the morning and go to the Guru’s house.

My light is very strong there. Then you will be with me ALL DAY!

By the Guru’s Grace, the girl meditated in the early hours of the morning and found her own light once again.

The girl now lives closely with her Big Beautiful Light everywhere she goes.

"Oh my mind, you are the embodiment of the divine light. Recognise your own origin."
Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

Game of love 377- WITHOUT THE TRUE GURU

WITHOUT THE TRUE GURU

Guru Amardas ji says, they alone are a sikh, a friend, a relative and a sibling, who walk in the way of the Guru's will. Guru sahib ji then goes on to say, one who walks according to their own will by using their own mind, rather than the Guru's teachings suffers separation from Vaheguroo and will be punished. In the same Shabad, Guru Ji goes on to say, without the True Guru peace is never obtained, they regret and repent again and again. They say, it's only the lords slaves that remain happy at all times. Their countless sins are eradicated through meditation on Vaheguroo's name. Vaheguroo looks after them and unites them in Gods Union himself.

When I read shabads (teachings) like the above, I feel so blessed to be a sikh. Guru sahib ji has blessed his mercy on us. We shouldn't waste this human life.

Find good sangat and begin to purify your mind through the blessed, True Guru's teachings.

"Those who eat and dress without serving the True Guru die; after death, those wretched lepers are consigned to reincarnation."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

Game of love 376- WHY MEDITATION IS NECESSARY!

WHY MEDITATION IS NECESSARY!

Please read below from a Medical and scientific Prospective.

From the time of our birth till death the heart works continuously.

Everyday, the heart pumps 7000 litres of blood, of which 70% blood is pumped to the brain and the remaining 30%  to rest of the body.

The blood is pumped through veins/arteries which are about more than 70,000 km long.
The strength required to pump the blood up to 42ft high and the weight of 1 tonne is generated by the heart everyday through its work.

We take rest when we are tired but if the heart takes rest for 4-5 mins, we would have to rest forever.

*How does the heart work so efficiently and effectively?*

The heart works effectively, because it follows a discipline. In normal conditions, the heart takes 0.3 secs to contract (systole) and 0.5 secs to relax (diastole). So 0.3+0.5=0.8 secs are required by the heart to complete one beat (1 cardiac cycle). That means *in 1 min, the heart beats 72 times which is considered as a normal heart beat.*

During the relaxing phase of 0.5 secs, the impure blood travels through the lungs and becomes 100 % pure.

In some stressful conditions the body demands more blood in less time and in this situation the heart reduces the relaxing period of 0.5 secs to 0.4 secs. In this case, the heart beats 82 times in 1 min and only 80% of blood gets purified.

On more and more demand, the relaxing time is further reduced to 0.3 secs, then only 60% of blood is purified.
Thus 20-40% of impure blood is pumped in the veins/ arteries. These impure components (cholesterol/lipid) get deposited on walls of the arteries/veins and thus the elastic nature of the veins and the arteries is lost. In this way, they become plastic in nature.

After some time, due to the above conditions the veins/arteries become rigid. Now if a blood clot travels through the veins/arteries (which in normal conditions get easily passed away due to the elastic nature earlier) get blocked and resists blood flow in that area. This results in a blockage which further results in a *Heart Attack.*

From the above discussion, we can easily realise that the main reason for the heart problems is the increase demand of blood by the brain and body.
When the activity of the brain is stimulated, it demands more amount of blood, than that of normal conditions.

*To stimulate the activity of the brain, 25-30% of the diet we take is responsible, whereas the remaining 70-75% is due to overthinking, emotions, attitude, memory and other processes of the brain.*

So, those who want to keep their heart working effectively for a long period of time, should protect themselves from - worry, anger, sadness, negative emotions, sensitive behavior, stress and a constant fast paced life.

To protect ourselves from the above few areas, *there is no MEDICATION available!*
So, the only option is
*MEDITATION*.

It's said that: *SPIRITUAL HEALING IS ONLY THE TRUE HEALING*

Sikhs meditate through the Naam mantra of Vaheguroo to conquer their minds desires, emotions, pressures and stresses.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji Says, "Giaan a(n)jan naam bi(n)jan bheae sagal seegaaraa."
I have applied the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to my eyes (mind); meditation on the Naam mantra, the Name of the Lord, is my food. These are all my decorations.

Game of love 375- YOUR WORD (BACHAN KARNA)

YOUR WORD (BACHAN KARNA)

Back in the days, the Gurus Sikhs had a very strong character and were respected very highly for it. If a sikh was witness to any injustice, their word was taken as Gospel and believed without any doubt or question. One of Guru sahib Ji's 52 commands was, a sikh will never lie or turn a blind eye as a witness.

Today our word and character as humans has become very weak. we give our word and never see it through. Then we say chal koyna (oh never mind, it's ok). Back in the days, our word was our character, whatever we said, we made sure it was actioned. We lived and died by our word. No one would want to get on the wrong side of a sikh and upset them, Incase they spoke some harsh words and were forced to follow them through. Their zubaan (toungue/word) was everything.

"Those who have one thing in their heart and something else in their mouth, are judged to be false." Bhagat Farid Ji

The above shabad is beautiful. Guru sahib ji also talks about kissing the feet and face of those, who have recognised the truth through the love of Vaheguroo's meditation.

Today we make false promises, we fail to acknowledge other Sikhs with a fateh (sikh greeting) or acknowledge via text, email, social media etc, we are very poor with our punjabi mentality of being punctual. The list goes on. Guru sahib says, 'The one who respects time, I call them a true human.'

Our Mann (mind), Bach (word) and Karam (actions) all need to be pure. This will make us True Khalsa (pure ones), that Guru ji created.

It's easy to be false and fake. Genuine truthful human beings will always be respected and stand out above others.

Our word (bachan) remains pure only through meditation on Vaheguroo's name. Be true to yourself, true to your Guru and true to others. Keep your word!

"They are so brave; they are men of their word."
Guru Arjun Dev Ji 1563-1606

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 374- IGNORANCE

IGNORANCE

"The shabad (Vaheguroo) dispels the spiritual ignorance within and through the True Guru, one finds peace."
Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

One morning, when our new teacher of 'Introduction to the Rights' entered the classroom, the first thing he did was to ask the name of a student seated on the front bench:
β€œWhat is your name?”
β€œMy name is Harjan, Sir.”
β€œLeave the classroom immediately and I don't want to ever see you in my class again!” screamed the teacher.
Harjan was bewildered but, when he got hold of his senses, he got up quickly, collected his belongings and left the classroom.

All were scared and angry but none did or said anything.
β€œWell…”, said the new teacher, β€œwhom do the enacted Laws serve?”
We were all afraid but slowly gained confidence and began to answer his questions.
β€œSo that there is order in society”.
β€œNo!” the teacher responded.
β€œTo accomplish them."
β€œNo!”
β€œSo that the people who wrong others pay for their actions?”
β€œNo! Does nobody here know the answer to this question?"
β€œSo that there is justice”, a girl said timidly.
β€œAt last! That’s it... so that there is justice! And now, what is the use of justice?”
All began to feel uneasy with such a rude attitude but followed on answering:
β€œTo safeguard human rights...”
β€œWell, what more?” asked the teacher.
β€œTo differentiate right from wrong... to reward the good...!”
β€œOk... not bad, however,... answer this: Did I act rightly when expelling Harjan from the classroom earlier…?”
All were quiet, nobody answered.
β€œI want a decisive and unanimous answer!”
β€œNo!" we all replied in unison.
β€œWould you say I committed injustice?”
β€œYes!”
β€œAnd why did nobody do or say anything about that then? Why do we have or need Laws and Rules, if we don't have the will needed to practice them? Each and every one of you has the obligation to complain when you witness injustice. Remember, each and every one of you!  Do not stay quiet… never again! Now, go and call Harjan back,” he said staring at me.

That day, I received the most practical lesson ever in my entire Law course.
When we don't defend our Rights, we lose our dignity, and dignity is never negotiable! Gurus Sikhs should never turn a blind eye! They should always remain righteous! Don't tolerate others being mistreated in front of you! This is the true nature of a spiritual Gursikh!

"This dark age is the knife and the kings are the butchers, righteousness has sprouted wings and flown away." Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Game of love 373- IMMOVABLE FAITH

IMMOVABLE FAITH

This story took place three years ago. A sikh soldier was celebrating the martyrdom of Guru ArjunDev ji. He was meditating on Vaheguroo's name, whilst preparing and serving langar (food). Just then, a Hindu officer approached the soldier and very rudely asked, "What are you doing here?" The soldier explained the story of Guru ArjunDev Jis martyrdom, with great love.

The Hindu officer very rudely spoke for the second time and said, "How is this possible? No human can sit on a burning hot plate." The officer continued being very rude and kept questioning the soldier. He kept saying, 'This is a joke, it can not be true.'

The soldier got very upset in listening to this and went and sat on a burning hot plate, where the langar (food) was being prepared. When witnessing this, the officer burst out in to tears and quickly rushed to get the soldier off the plate. He fell at his feet and repeated, "You Sikhs are amazing people. Your faith is immovable! You are very pure at heart and you can not accept the disrespect of your Guru." The soldier lifted the officer and embraced him with a hug.

If we have faith in Guru ji, nothing will come near us. Guru ji will always be our saviour and protect us. Gain your faith in Guru Ji!

"The hot winds do not even touch those who are protected by their Guru."

Guru ArjunDev Ji 1563-1606

Game of love 372- IDENTITY

IDENTITY

Daas used to be mona (cut hair) many years ago, until Guru sahib ji took pitty on me and blessed me in their divine sanctuary. Whilst sat there, the speaker on the stage was talking about Guru Teghbahadur Jis sacrifice for the Hindu faith.

Cutting a long story very short, the Hindu hill kings were being converted to Islam. They were given an option to convert or to bring a saint, who will sacrifice his head, in order to save their faith.

The Hindus approached the ninth Guru, Guru Teghbahadur ji and requested for a saint to sacrifice their head. Gobind Rai (Guru Gobind Singh Ji, son of Guru Teghbahadur), at the age of 5 spoke and said, "There is no greater saint than you father, to give your head and save the Hindu faith". Guru ji accepted and they were beheaded. Guru Ji was named, 'Hindh di Chadar' (the saviour of Hinduism).

Guru Ji's head was brought back to Gobind Rai. They asked how many Sikhs were present? Bhai Jetha replied, "There were many sikh families but I couldn't recognise any. They all looked like Muslims and Hindus."

Gobind Rai responded by saying, "I will create such a Khalsa, that will stand out in thousands. All my khalsa will keep their kesh (hair) and both males and females will wear tall turbans."

When hearing this story, I went home, looked in the mirror and saw myself as a None sikh person, with the surname Singh standing at the mirror. From that day onwards, I did ardaas for Guru Ji to bless me and never looked back since. Guru ji took immense pitty.

I was faced with many difficulties and problems, whilst keeping my hair but If we have faith in Guru Ji and ardaas, they will pull us through and never let us down. Guru Ji loves us more than we can ever comprehend.

Guru sahib blessed his Sikhs with sardaaree (turbans). Only highly
respected, rich people were allowed to wear a turban back in the days. Guru ji said, "All my sikhs will wear a turban and no one will have the courage to stop them."

"Purify what is impure and let the lords presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head."

Guru Arjun Dev Ji 1563-1606

Game of love 371- DISCIPLINE

DISCIPLINE

"One can not be called a sikh without physical/spiritual discipline. One will suffer at every door."

Rehitnama, Amrit kirtan

Most of the 'Game Of Love' posts have been based on spiritual discipline (rehit), we have not really spoke much on physical discipline.

Physical discipline is as important in a Sikhs life, as spiritual discipline. They both work hand in hand. One can not be complete without the other. Physical discipline protects and holds the spiritual shabad (word/mantra) within the mind.

Guru sahib has made it clear, without Amrit, Guru, Sangat and spiritual/physical rehit (discipline) we can not be complete and liberate our soul. For a sikh, the Guru's way is a must!

The minimum discipline for a sikh is 5Ks (panj kakaar) through an Amrit Sanchaar ceremony. Many baptised Sikhs keep additional disciple i.e. Bana (attire) and a preparation of their own food.

Every army has it's own uniform and discipline. We are the army of God (akaal purakh ki fauj), so in the same way, we have ours.

Many people argue saying, 'only the mind needs to be pure and we don't need to accept the Amrit.' It always makes me ask, 'so was Guru Gobind Singh Ji's mind not pure for them to create the blessed Amrit (blessed nectar).' Amrit means, to bring the dead back to life (shedding light on the ignorant mind). Guru ji created the Amrit, blessed it to 5 singhs and then begged for it from them (panj).

If we are meditating on Vaheguroo's name, we will only truly be blessed and feel the full affect of it, when we go to the panj (5 singhs) and beg for the name in the blessed presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj Ji.

Guru Amardas Ji Says, "Jath sath thap pavith sareeraa har har ma(n)n vasaaeae."
Abstinence, truthfulness and self-discipline are obtained, and the body is purified; the Lord, Har, Har, comes to dwell within the mind.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 370- SECRET WITHIN

SECRET WITHIN

There is a secret within us all. Many people search outside for those things that will answer their souls questions. However, contemplating on the innermost you and through sincere effort and blessing, you will find that all the answers to your questions are found within.

We all ignore the fact that death can take us at any time. No one knows when they will breathe their last breath.

Lately, I have experienced many young deaths. There one minute and gone the next. We always think the elders will pass away first. We live as though we will never die. When our time comes, we will have to depart. Who can save us from leaving this body, when death calls. No one will come anywhere near helping us.

We spend most of our life, studying, working, collecting money, buying land, buying many houses, buying many cars and living luxurious life styles. When our time is up, none of this is going with us. We will leave it all behind. We put our mind and body through so much stress and pressure to earn all we have, yet it will all be left behind. We will not even get the space of a bathroom in the house we spent many years earning for.

Guru sahib ji says, 'we have a life as a diamond, yet we waste it for mere shells.'

The secret within is Gur Amrit Naam. Meditation on this Naam is the only substance which will fulfil our soul and answer all our minds desires. Through this Naam we will be blessed with respect, love and knowledge of this world and the spirit world.

Naam, Gurbaani and the loved blessings (asseesaa) of Gursikhs, is the only gem which will support our soul on the other side.

"Deep within the self is the secret, but the fool looks for it outside."
Guru AmarDas Ji 1479-1574

Game of love 369- COMPANY

COMPANY

"Saintly people continually peck at the divine name, like swans pecking at pearls in the ocean."

Guru Amardas Ji 1479-1574

The company of saintly and good people is sought by all. Seek the company of those who make you feel happy, comfortable and peaceful. Soon, you will find that you become like them and enrich your own daily feelings and experiences.

Meditation on Naam is what develops saintly people. Guru sahib says, 'when we remember Vaheguroo with love, in single minded concentration, in that instants we become saintly.'

Saintly people never let go of the Naam, as they are aware, it's only the naam that will purify their mind from negativity and guide them through this terrifying world ocean.

We will always become like our company, whether it's positive or negative, so it's very important we seek the company of like minded spiritual beings. Our sangat (company) will always pull us through in the end.

"The treacherous and terrifying world ocean is crossed over, in the boat of the saadh sangat (spiritual company)." Guru Arjun Dev Ji

Game of love 368- WISE WORDS

WISE WORDS

Bhai Vir Singh Ji's wisdom on Naam Meditation.

His was another era in which he studied Panjabi, sanskrit, braj, persian, urdu and English. He wrote countless books including classics like Sundri and Vijay Singh and took on the right wing Hinduvata who were determined to break Sikhs from their independent and unique Sikhi.
Here are a few of his words on Naam ..

When this eternal, pure light meets with the spark of light within you, at that moment enlightenment takes place. Your life, as you know it ceases. This pure light transforms you. Wonder and gratitude fill every pore of your being.

If this union does not take place, then you continue to live like an extinguished lamp, low in spirits and powerless to rise above worldly desires. This is the cause of pain and suffering. So train your mind to always remain in the presence of the Divine.

Think, when you remember someone, is your attention not that person? Attention is the essence in this world. When you give something your total attention, the work gets accomplished. But when the attention gets diverted, the work suffers. When a student gives his attention to his education, he gets educated. Similarly, if you focus your attention on the Divine and its attributes, you too will reap the benefits. So raise your consciousness above the seen world and focus your attention on the Divine.

When you begin to feel the love of the Divine within your mind and body, know that grace has been bestowed. This is naam.

Dyed in the love of the Divine you will see the Divine pervading everywhere. This is naam.

When your attention turns from the seen world, towards the Divine world, that is also naam.

Naam is not mere repetition.

Naam is repetition, recitation, remembrance and sensation.

Naam is life!

Naam is grace!

Naam is the divine light meeting the light within you.

Naam is love, devotion, ecstasy and rapture.

Naam is when in your remembrance of the Divine, you feel a heavenly sensation on your tongue.

Naam is when all the cells in your body get immersed in the love of the Divine and the flow of blood through your veins resounds with the sensation of the Divine.

Every pore, every cell rejoices. At that moment, you are truly awake. You are truly alive.
To know naam; to understand naam, you must have faith. Faith, that the Divine is all-pervading. Faith, that in the seen and unseen world, it is the Formless One that permeates. Faith, that invisible to the naked eye, the Pure Light of the Divine is in each and every being. Faith, that the Divine is eternal strength. Faith, that the power and ways of the Divine cannot be known by mortals, for the Divine is immortal.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji Says, "Naam vihoonaa mukath kiv hoee."
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, how can anyone find liberation?

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 367- QUARREL

QUARREL

"Do not fall in to a quarrel by calling someone bad."

Guru Nanaj Dev Ji 1469-1539

Quarrels bring grief to all those involved. No quarrel can solve a problem. Avoid such negativity and look for a positive solution to every situation you face.

When we quarrel with others, we always assume we are right through our ego. The funny thing is, quarrels are usually very trivial and can normally be resolved without getting heated. Our minds are so focussed and trained in this taste of ego, that it has become natural for us to quarrel and argue. We have virtually accepted this way of life for resolving problems. We have made it the norm.

The other day, I witnessed two people quarrelling. They were having a real go at each other. When asked, what they were quarrelling about and calming them both down, it ended up as a nothing issue.

We usually get heated over small issues, blow them out of proportion and end up winding each other up. When we are given time to relax, calm down and re-think the whole situation, the result and outcome is always different to the way we handled it with a heated mind.

Experiencing this argument looked very bad from an outsiders point of view and looked worse than what it was. Just remember, this is how we look in front of others when we quarrel.

We have to learn to remain calm, when someone wants to quarrel with us. Calm them down, listen to exactly what they have to say and come to a solution, whilst calm. Try not to wind them up, as anger when coming together always makes situations worse. This may mean walking away from the situation or asking to speak about it later. Relationships take many years to build, yet seconds to destroy.

Meditation on the Naam, always replaces angry thoughts in to extremely positive thoughts and actions.

Guru Angad Dev Ji says, "I am not good; no one is bad." So who are we quarrelling with.

Vaheguroo!

Game of love 366- SWEET SPEECH

SWEET SPEECH

"My dear lord and master, my friend, speaks so sweetly."

Guru Arjun Dev Ji 1563-1606

In this shabad, Guru ArjunDev Ji goes on to say, 'I have gone on to test God but he never hurts anyone by speaking harsh words. God struggles to speak bitter words and never looks at anyone's negatives, as all is the one God. This is the natural way in which Vaheguroo (God) purifies and saves sinners.'

When we are in the remembrance and contemplation of God, 24/7 with every breath, our conscious mind will never let us speak bad about anyone or look at anyone's negatives, as the love and virtues of God will shine through us and naturally we would see the good in all with every breath. Life would be in the form of a mirror. That what we experience on the inside, would shine forth on the outside and all our virtues would be seen in everyone we come in to contact with.

Also, the same happens in the opposite way; When we are negative, narrow minded and very judgemental, we would treat everybody else in the same way and not trust anyone. This is why Guru Ji says, 'practise the virtue of humility and sweet speech, as this pierces the hearts of all and one would only be offered love and respect back in return.'

Sweet speech consists of speaking softly, speaking in humility, love, respect, and speaking through good manners. Most people are judged through the words they speak. The spirit is connected to love, so most sane people react positively to virtuous, sweet speaking human beings.

The way one walks, their body language, the way they write, the look in their eyes, aura, energy and everything about them will become warm and sweet. All the above is developed through constant meditation on Vaheguroo's name, as meditation replaces anger, harsh words, ego and balances the mind.

"The one who is sweet and dear to the lord is loved and dear to all, all others come and go in vain." Guru Amardas ji. "Jo har ka pyaaraa, so sabna ka pyaara."

Game of love 365- LOYALTY

LOYALTY

"A dog never abandons the home of his master."

Guru Teghbahadur Ji 1621-1675

As Sikhs we can learn from anything and everything. We just have to be open minded and relate everything to God. This usually happens when we meditate and contemplate on Vaheguroo's name.

Guru sahib ji has mentioned many animals in Gurbani and related them with God. Just as the line above does.

Dogs are very loving and loyal animals, if treated with love, affection and taught correctly. There is no animal like them for their obedience. In the same way a Sikh should be loyal, faithful, obedient and ever loving to Vaheguroo (God).

A short story comes to mind, In which turned my love, loyalty and faith closer to Guru ji.

The power of love and a teaching of loyalty to our master (God/Guru)!

Hachiko was a Japanese Akita dog in japan. His master was a Professor. He walked to the train station everyday with his master and went home. Hachiko always came back to collect the Professor daily. The Professor had a heart attack at school one day and never returned home via the train. Hachiko the dog, travelled to the train station every single day for 10 years, at exactly the same time to collect his master but sadly he never met him ever again.

He died daily in his longing and remembrance and eventually after 10 years of yearning and waiting in love, he died and was buried by the side of his master.

Are we as loyal to our master (Guru ji)? If yes, does it show in our spiritual development, character and physical appearance.

Vaheguroo!
